Because of our darkness, we shine. Light and dark are opposite ends in which we perceive each other on the light spectrum. Pure white: the sum of all possible color. Black: the absence of color. Darkness bleeds from behind the masks we all wear. Even the most compassionate of beings fight the demons of thought brought by fear. Were it not for that darkness there would be no contrast to the light of our true nature. We would be imperceivable absences or aberrations of the All. Yet we exist in this physical form, perceivable in our range of the light spectrum. Therefore, we MUST be both. Each with our own shade of shadow cast by our past. With acceptance of this lies the choice in what we do with this darkness. We fight this battle for ourselves and with only ourselves for we will become the future written by the perception of the victor’s histories.
THE CHOICE: 1) to turn our own suffering into empathy through the knowledge that our foe or friend suffers and fights their own battle, as we do. 2) let the knowledge that darkness lives in others push us to assume they are more harmful than we are and let fear drive us to sociopathy and pure ego.
Trust is hard - but must act first.
